Armand Magundayao

Biography

In 1975, Armand Magundayao migrated from the Philippines with his wife Dr. Minda Magundayao with the vision of wanting to make a better life for themselves and a bright future for their family.  Dr. Minda’s first goal in the United States was to obtain a United States medical license.  After years of meager income and many obstacles along their way, Minda continued to persevere and completed her medical residencies to become the first American-licensed doctor in her family.

In January of 1993, Armand and Dr. Minda purchased a wedge-shaped building on the corner of 67th Street and North Broad for what would become the site of The Wedge Medical Center—a dream that came to fruition.

In January of 1994, The Wedge Medical Center opened its doors as a mental health, drug and alcohol treatment facility.  The Wedge first opened its doors with only three employees, namely Armand Magundayao, Dr. Minda, and Patrick Palmer.  Mr. Palmer worked on developing the policy and procedures for the Wedge Medical Center while Armand continued to complete the construction work needed to build a more business-like atmosphere.

Today, the Wedge employs over 200 employees.  Armand and The Wedge continues to remain dedicated to providing only the highest quality mental health and drug and alcohol services to those entrusted to its care.

Armand attended his first Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) in 1996.  After his experience at the LSS, he began attending weekly prayer meetings alongside Alita Violanta who then introduced Armand to Brother Conrad.  Brother Conrad became Armand’s spiritual mentor and later convinced him to continue sharing his personal spiritual transformation to those who attended LSS in Philadelphia, PA.  Armand and Minda completed a Marriage Encounter Weekend and became part of ME-Class #3 which was held in Schooley’s Mountain, NJ in 1997 and also part of the Family Encounter Class#2 which was held in Avalon, NJ in 2000.

Armand continued to become heavily involved in evangelization in Pennsylvania with Brother Conrad and was very much involved with the FIAT community.  Armand joined JEG in 2016 and now serves as the Vice President for the term 2019-2022.  He is determined to acquire a Dream Center to centralize the activities of the various KFI ministries that Brother Conrad started.  He supports all of JEG’s activities and contributes his time, talent, and treasures for the mission of the organization.

Armand resides in Blue Bell, PA with his wife Minda. They have one daughter and 3 grandchildren, whom they cherish time with.  He continues to fulfill his position as Chairman of the Board for The Wedge Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
